newtown? >> i don't believe that will make one difference. >> is that aggressive interviewing or almost taking a stand? >> i'm happy with that, but i don't want to see it become too proscatorial for the reasons that tom was just saying. you know, don't do that. go after the facts about the nra. >> the interview was pressing lapierre on the facts and he was responding with the point of view, it's not guns. you said this is not helpful. doesn't wayne lapierre have a point on this score when he says that companies, media companies either glamourize violence through the colors and making the movies and television shows and video games. i mean, isn't that something that should be on the table for discussion, as well? >> i think if you look at all the statistics about violence and everything that has changed in our culture over the past 20 or 30 or 40 years, i don't see how you can't look at everything. this is the place where the nra probably ran afoul, though, on friday. they said, look at everything except guns. the truth is, many of us came out of there saying if at one point they said in

up on me this year with sandy and everything that went on here in the northeast and then the newtown, connecticut tragedy, all of a sudden i found that christmas. yesterday i went and visited a parishioner in the hospital who is dying, 80 years old, very good man of the i knew he was dying. but somebody had taught me along the way that when you're leaving the hospital as a priest, a tradition that i started through his example, i just said, is there anybody -- i asked the nursed, is there anybody who doesn't have any family that i could visit? because as a clergy member, they allow know do it. they said, well, there is someone, but he's not doing well. i said, well, take me to see him. and these two nurses, nervously walked me over. as soon as he saw us from above, he started getting very angry, tahj tated. he started beating on his bed. he was lying there obviously dying. about 45 years old, of a terrible disease. and they said, father, let's get out of here. we can't handle this. i said, let me stay a little bit longer. i took one step closer and he started getting furious. they sa
